Dead Prez, politically charged hip hop duo composed of Stic-man and M-1, formed in 1996 in New York City. Known for their confrontational style, combined with socialist lyrics focused on social justice and Pan-Africanism. Their ideologies have echoed throughout their career, taking a stance against corporate control over media and hip hop record labels.
Their last project, 2010: Turn Off the Radio Vol. 4: Revolutionary but Gangsta Grillz, celebrating the 10th year anniversary of “Let’s Get Free” from their first studio album. Now, the group has another album, Information Age, scheduled for online release on Oct. 16.
