Dam Funk Releases ‘I Don’t Wanna Be A Star’

Dam-Funk is affectionately known as Los Angeles’ “Ambassador of Boogie Funk,”. Dãm (pronounced: ‘Dame’ as in Damon) has been nurturing his musical passion for 80’s sounding Electro-Funk, Modern Soul and Boogie. Dam-Funk’s first new tracks leading up to his next album, Invite the Light are now released on the 12″ maxi-single, “I Don’t Wanna Be A Star”. The record contains two vocals – the title track and the Prince cover “17 Days” – and two instrumentals.

A video for the title track “I Don’t Wanna Be A Star” is currently in production with director Eric Coleman – expect a premiere in early September 2012.

Also released, the Dam Drum: a handheld drum machine and sequencer with four unique sounds selected by Dam-Funk. This is a collaboration with Dam and Bleep Labs, who designed and built the drum in Austin, Texas.
