J Dilla’s Legacy Lives On With The ‘Lost Scrolls’

Detroit, MI (Majyck Radio )-Earlier this year a collection of unreleased material crafted by world renowned  producer J Dilla was returned to Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey.  Jeff Bubeck, who owns the Royal Oak-based record store UHF found the material while cleaning out a storage unit humbly returned the unheard material to Dilla’s family. Yancey Media Group will work with Hip-Hop label Delicious Vinyl, to release Lost Scrolls

Born James Dewitt Yancey  passed away Feburary 10, 2006 from Lupus.  The first release from the Lost Scrolls  will be available as a digital-only single coming this December titled “The Throwaway” Yancey Boys feat. Nitt.

The 2013 release will include  J Dilla  rapping. The new year  also brings the first official release Frank & Dank album 48 Hours, the only LP produced by Jay Dee without any samples.

Frank Nitt is set to host the Second Annual Dilla Day in Detroit with headliners  Talib Kweli, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Brandon Williams Experiment, Frank & Dank, Illa J and DJ’s Spinna, Sicari and Houseshoes on February 9th, 2013.
