September Is Gospel Music Heritage Month
The fourth Annual Evolution of Gospel Concert will celebrate Gospel Music Heritage, observed in September. This stellar concert showcases the significance of gospel music to the world. The concert will tell the story of gospel music through narration and song. The story will begin at the Middle Passage and conclude with highlights of contemporary Gospel music.
This year’s line up features Yolanda Adams, Maurette Brown Clark, Damita Haddon, Lil’ Mo and Phillip Bryant, Crystal Aikin, The 7 Sons of Soul, the Washington Performing Arts Society Men and Women of the Gospel Choir and others will share their musical talents during the concert.
The concert will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 16 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. Tickets are free, but must be reserved by emailing tickets@gospelmusicheritage.org or calling 1-800-895-7301.
